Haris Rauf, Jasprit Bumrah, Marco Jansen nominated for ICC Player of the Month for November

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has nominated three standout pacers—India’s Jasprit Bumrah, Pakistan’s Haris Rauf, and South Africa’s Marco Jansen—for the Men’s Player of the Month award for November 2024. Their exceptional performances played a crucial role in their teams’ successes across formats.

Haris Rauf spearheaded Pakistan’s first ODI series win in Australia in 22 years, finishing as the leading wicket-taker. The 31-year-old kicked off the series with a fiery three-wicket haul in Melbourne, followed by a match-winning five-wicket spell in the second ODI to level the series. He wrapped up the decider with two more scalps, ending with 10 wickets at an economy rate of just five.

Rauf continued his stellar form in the T20I series, claiming five wickets, including a four-wicket haul in the second match. He capped off the month with three wickets in Pakistan’s ODIs against Zimbabwe, taking his tally to 18 dismissals across formats in November.

India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah delivered a sensational performance in the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth, leading India to a 295-run victory. Bumrah’s eight-wicket haul (5/30 and 3/42) dismantled Australia’s batting order.

Defending a low first-innings total of 150, Bumrah rocked the Australian top order with three early wickets, restricting them to 104. In the final innings, he struck early again, sealing a dominant win for India. His efforts earned him the Player of the Match award, reaffirming his status as one of the world’s premier bowlers.

Marco Jansen showcased his all-round capabilities in November, excelling with both bat and ball. In the T20I series against India, Jansen contributed with a wicket in each of the first three games and impressed with a swashbuckling 17-ball 54 in the third T20I and an unbeaten 29 in the fourth. Despite his heroics, South Africa lost the series 3-1.

His standout performance came in the first Test against Sri Lanka in Durban, where he delivered career-best match figures of 11/86. His seven-wicket haul in the first innings bowled out Sri Lanka for just 42—the second-lowest Test total of the 21st century. He added four more wickets in the second innings, securing a massive 233-run victory for South Africa.
