ICC Rankings: Saim Ayub jumps to 23rd position from 70 in ODI position in latest update

The latest ICC rankings have brought significant recognition to Pakistani cricketers, with stellar performances boosting their positions across formats. Among the standout achievers, Saim Ayub and others have made remarkable leaps in both batting and all-rounder categories.

Saim Ayub, a rising star in Pakistan cricket, has made a dramatic ascent in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings. Ayubโ€™s two centuries in the series against South Africa propelled him from 70th to a joint-23rd position, a testament to his growing prowess. With a total of 603 points, Ayubโ€™s consistent performances have also earned him recognition in the all-rounders’ rankings, where he climbed 113 places to secure the joint-42nd spot, thanks to his notable contributions with the ball.

Australiaโ€™s Travis Head has made significant strides in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings following his stellar performances in the ongoing series. Headโ€™s brilliant 152 at the Gabba, combined with his century in Adelaide, has propelled him to fourth place with 825 points, bringing him closer to the top three.

Steve Smith, another Australian stalwart, has re-entered the top 10 after a century in the third Test against India. Meanwhile, Indiaโ€™s KL Rahul climbed ten spots to 40th after his gritty display in the first innings of the Brisbane Test.

In the all-roundersโ€™ category, Pat Cummins has regained a spot in the top 10, thanks to his four wickets and crucial 42 runs in the third Test. Travis Headโ€™s consistent all-round contributions have also seen him rise nine places to 29th.

In the Men’s ODI Batting Rankings, South Africaโ€™s Heinrich Klaasen climbed to fifth place after consistent half-centuries against Pakistan, earning 743 points.

Afghanistanโ€™s Azmatullah Omarzai delivered an impressive performance in the ODI series against Zimbabwe, claiming six wickets. This effort propelled him 43 places to 58th in the ODI Bowling Rankings and moved him up to third in the all-rounders’ category.

In the T20I Bowling Rankings, Mahedi Hasan and Roston Chase have made significant advancements. Hasan climbed 13 places to 10th, while Chase rose 11 spots to 13th after strong performances in the T20I series in the West Indies. Bangladesh also saw notable progress, with players like Rishad Hossain and Hasan Mahmud achieving substantial ranking boosts following their successful multi-format tour of the Caribbean.
