The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has organized a 19-day skills and fitness camp for 32 selected U19 women cricketers, set to take place at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi. The camp, scheduled to provide intensive training from skills development to conditioning, aims to prepare the players for two major upcoming tournaments: the ACC Women’s U19 Asia Cup in Malaysia this December and the ICC Women’s U19 World Cup in January 2025.
The Women’s National Selection Committee selected these players based on their performances in the recent National U19 Women’s T20 Tournament, a five-team competition held in Lahore from October 14 to November 3. The tournament featured 75 players across 21 matches, showcasing emerging talent for Pakistan’s U19 women’s cricket.
During the camp, players will participate in fielding drills, net sessions, skills development activities, fitness and conditioning exercises, as well as practice matches designed to refine their technical and physical capabilities.
Notably, among the selected 32 players are Areesha Ansari, Komal Khan, Laiba Nasir, Maham Anees, Memoona Khalid, Ravail Farhan, Samiya Afsar, and Zoofishan Ayyaz. These players represented Pakistan in the U19 Women’s Tri-National Tournament held in Bangladesh earlier this year, bringing valuable international experience to the camp.
Hanif Malik (Assistant coach – National Women Team) will work as camp commandant, while he will be assisted by Jaweria Rauf (former Pakistan player/regional coach). Imran Khalil (strength & conditioning coach), Rabia Siddiq (Physiotherapist – National Women Team), Usman Shahid (analyst) and Aisha Jalil (Manager – Development & Pathway) will be the support staff available to players.
